Dear Authors,
We are launching the Testnet of out decentralized eBooks marketplace Nalnda. To make it easier for authors to publish eBooks on our platform we are writing down the process to help the authors.
Step 1 : Connect to wallet
Create account on Nalnda marketplace using Sequence wallet. For this click on connect wallet option on the home page of the marketplace.
Once you click on connect wallet, a pop of sequence wallet will appear on the screen. To read more about Sequence wallet and why we have chosen it, please click here. Sequence wallet allows you to connect to crypto wallet using your Google, Facebook, Apple or your other email.
We are launching our platform on Testnet currently, do not forget to click on ‘Enable Testnet’.
Sequence wallet will take at least 30 sec — 45 sec to assign a crypto wallet address to your mail account.
Step 2: Update profile
Important: Authors wouldnt be able to publish titles without updating personal details
Step 3: Publishing eBook
Publishing eBook on Nalnda is a 30 sec task. Click on publish which will take you to publish page
a) Fill the Book Name and Author Name
b) Upload Book cover image, preview file and complete book. Please note, we only support .epub format only.
c) Set the metadata of your eBook
d) Setting the secondary market start date for your eBook
Secondary market refers to buy and sell of second hand eBooks ( by eBook owners/readers). Since we dont want eBook owners to sell their eBook copies just after the listing of of title on our platform, we have kept a window of 90 days where we will only allow readers to buy new eBooks (i.e. secondary market for that eBooks title will not be activated before 90 days from the listing date. For ex: if the eBooks is listed on our platform on 1st Jan 2022, buy and sell of second hand eBook’s copy will be activated after 31st Mar 2022.) However, on Testnet, to check this feature secondary market will be activated after 1 day.
Please verify details before submitting the eBook for listing
Once the author has submitted the title, it will go for approval. Author can check the progress under published tab in library section.
Step 4. Verify Details
We will check for the following before approving the title:
a) Plagiarism — Authors should not publish plagiarized content
b) IP Right — Authors should not publish someone’s else content without approval
c) Gibberish content : Authors should publish readable content that should make sense.
Content approval will take update 24 hours for approval. Once all the details are verified, we will approve the content and it will be visible on marketplace after 24 hours. Incase, author violates the terms and conditions and uploaded plagiarized/gibberish content or violates IP right the author will be banned.
